Mary T. Ravas,93, a resident of 150 East First Street passed away on Monday at
St.Joseph's Hospital in Syracuse.
Born in Oswego,she was the daughter of the late John and Hazel(Proud)
Woods.She was a graduate of the Oswego High School and graduated as a R.N. from
the Edward J. Meyer Memorial Hospital in Buffalo,Class of 1945.
Mary was employed as a nurse for 35 years, including 19 years at the operating
room at the Oswego Hospital.
Mrs.Ravas was a member of the American Legion#268 Women's Auxiliary and
enjoyed golfing.
Surviving are two daughters,Patricia(Edward)Goodness of Lycoming,Sharon
(Joseph)Spencer of St. Petersburg,a brother James(Peggy)Walsh of Port Angeles
Washington,14 grandchildren,22 great grandchildren,one great great grandchild
and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband John Ravas in 1980 and her sister Elizabeth Ravas who passed away on September 19,2009.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 10:00 from St. Joseph's Church.
Burial will be in St.Peter's Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Dowdle Funeral Home on Thursday from 4-7.
