John (Jack) T. DeSantis,79,son of the late Anthony and Lillian (Wilcox)DeSantis passed away on July 10 after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born in Oswego on August 29,1930 and had attended Oswego schools.
Mr.DeSantis served in the U.S. Navy as a Seabee during the Korean Conflict.
Jack worked hard his whole life as a truck driver in the Oswego/Syracuse area his entire life,retiring from the Lake Shore Transportation in 1995.
He was a great and well liked person,faithful husband,dedicated father,grandfather,great grandfather and friend.His clan has been forever blessed by having him at the helm.He will be loved and missed forevermore.
He leaves behind his beloved wife of sixty years,the former Elizabeth (Betty) Cook,his children,John (Jeannette) DeSantis Jr.,Lori(Peter) Welsh,Cheryl (Doug)Beck all of Oswego,a brother,Richard DeSantis,a sister,Joan(Jack)Taber, grandchildren,Anthony(Becky),Jonathan (Jodene),Jamie(Ali),Billie(Brooke),Kimberly(Kevin),Katie(Steve),Karalyn,Yvonne(William),Samatha(Larry)Millie(Paul), great grandchildren,Anthony,Aidan,Seth,Ronan,Miles,Michael,Elijah,Josh,Matthew,Elizabeth,Rebecca,Kaitlyn,Rachel,Jessica,Isabella,Kamryn,Lillian,Paige,Isabel and Douglas,several nieces and nephews,great nieces and nephews and many,many life-long close friends.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 10:30 from Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Minetto.
Burial will be in St.Paul's Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Dowdle Funeral Home on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9.
Contributions may be made to the Oncology Department at Crouse Hospital
