William LeRoy Johnson, 83,a resident of 2280 County Route 7 passed away on July 2 at his home surronded by his family.
Born in Scriba,he was a son of the late Orville and Leona (Mitchell) Johnson and had attended Oswego schools.
He was the owner and operator of Johnson Pools for 45 years.
Mr.Johnson was a veteran of the United States Navy serving in the Pacific Theatre during World War II.
Bill was a life member of VFW #2320 ,Abraham Lincoln Camp #6 Sons of the Union Veterans of the Civil War and the Oswego Center Methodist Church..He enjoyed woodcrafting,fishing,hunting and camping.
Surviving are his wife of 63 years,the former Thelma Engle,one daughter Carolyn (Nelson) Fergurson of Oswego,two sons,Lester Johnson of Oswego,Jeffrey (Mary) Johnson of Syracuse,two brothers,Harold Johnson and Alger Johnson both of Oswego,several grandchildren,great grandchildren and a great great grand child.
He was predeceased by his son Alan Johnson in 1979.
The family invites friends to a commital service on Friday July 9 at Twelve Noon at Oswego Town Rural Cemetery.
There are no calling hours.
